Housing
Benefit
A
Citizen's Income would solve some problems, but not others.
One unresolved issue is Housing Benefit, which contributes
to the marginal withdrawal rate suffered by many households.
A Citizen's Income on its own would not reduce the poverty
and unemployment trap effects of Housing Benefit.
Mark
Wadsworth's new paper, Social
Housing, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit,
offers a possible solution.
We
would value comment.
The
London School of Economics has published a report on social
housing which relates to these issues. Click
